Quick answer
Check one selected shelf with a source-backed dimensions record, a worked example and a clear pending branch for unanswered opening measurements.View the Jerry Can Cabinet · Gift Guide
A cabinet can fit on a shelf with its door closed and still be awkward to use there. The handle may meet the shelf above; the opening may face a side panel; the bottle may have nowhere to go. Before buying, separate what the listing actually tells you from the measurements you still need. An unanswered question belongs in the plan, not in an optimistic guess.
This worksheet is for one already-chosen shelf or counter and one selected mini bar model. If you are still deciding where the station should live, start with our bar cabinet placement guide. Here, the task is narrower: screen the closed dimensions, document the unknowns and decide what evidence to collect next.

Measure one shelf and fix the product identity
Name the exact location, model and intended upright orientation. “The garage shelf” is too vague if the upper bay is shallower than the lower one. Record the shelf opening you intend to use, the product link and the variant. Keep every measurement in the same unit; the examples below use centimeters.
Measure usable width at the limiting points, supported depth from the back obstruction to the usable front edge, and clear height above the surface. Note trim, handles on surrounding furniture, brackets and any sloping underside. Use the smallest relevant clear measurement, not the furniture's advertised outside size. Also record obstructions beside and in front of the bay.
Copy the catalog dimensions without filling in the blanks
These are the dimensions in our listings checked October 23, 2026. They are starting evidence, not complete operating envelopes. Ask whether the stated measurements include handles, hinges and other projections; do not assume the answer from a photograph.
| Selected product | Listed dimensions | Not established by that number |
|---|---|---|
| Jerry Can Mini Bar Cabinet | 38 H × 28 W × 18 D cm | Maximum open width/depth, projection inclusions and usable interior opening |
| Compact 5L Mini Bar | 28 H × 20 W × 13 D cm | Opening path and actual bottle/glass retrieval space; smaller is not an automatic fit |
| Fire Extinguisher Mini Bar Cabinet | 45 H × 20 diameter cm | Maximum opened envelope; diameter is not open-door width |
| Rustic Dispenser, Single | Approximately 30 H × 15 W × 12 D cm | Complete installed-bottle height or Dual/Triple dimensions; pouring needs a different check |
Keep capacity separate, too. A cabinet's stated bottle-and-glass capacity does not supply interior measurements or prove your chosen items fit. Bottles and glasses shown with the full-size Jerry Can and Fire Extinguisher cabinets are not included.

Use a worksheet that keeps missing evidence visible
Copy the table below into your notes. Add a source and date for each answer: your measurement, the exact listing, or a seller reply naming the model. Write “not provided” when a product requirement is unknown. Do not promote a blank field to a pass because the closed cabinet looks small.
| Check | Your value / source / date | Product requirement / source / date | Unanswered question | Dimensional result |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Identity | Fixed location: ___; intended upright orientation: ___ | Exact model / variant: ___; listing URL / checked date: ___ | ||
| Closed width | Usable width / measurement date: ___ | Maximum width including projections / evidence date: ___ | Included projections: ___ | ___ |
| Closed depth | Usable supported depth / measurement date: ___ | Full footprint and positioning / evidence date: ___ | Footprint or positioning unknowns: ___ | ___ |
| Closed height | Clear height / measurement date: ___ | Maximum height including handle / evidence date: ___ | Included projections: ___ | ___ |
| Opening movement | Left/right/front/above obstruction map / date: ___ | Space throughout opening/closing and usable open position / seller source/date: ___ | Direction/path still unknown: ___ | Pending if unknown |
| Contents access | Actual bottle/glass measurements / date: ___ | Usable opening, interior and retrieval requirements / source/date: ___ | Remaining access question: ___ | Pending if unknown |
| Support, separate assessment | Surface identity / maker instructions / date: ___ | Loaded-use requirements / maker or qualified advice / date: ___ | Support suitability remains: ___ | Not assessed by this dimensional screen |
| Decision | Ruled-out / pending / feasible-for-next-check: ___; reason and next evidence: ___ | Updated: ___ | Not permission to load or use | |
A worked example: leftover space is not required clearance
Imagine a shelf with 34 cm usable width, 24 cm supported depth and 45 cm clear height. These are invented example measurements, not a customer installation or a recommended shelf size. Compare them with the full-size Jerry Can listing only as a preliminary closed-size screen.
| Comparison | Calculation | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Width | 34 − 28 = 6 cm | Total nominal width remaining, not automatically 3 cm required on each side |
| Depth | 24 − 18 = 6 cm | Nominal unused depth, not a proven rear gap or support requirement |
| Height | 45 − 38 = 7 cm | Nominal headroom, not confirmed handle or retrieval clearance |
The example result is pending. The listed numbers do not rule the shelf out, but we have not confirmed dimensional inclusions, opening movement or contents access. There is no basis for dividing the remaining space into a universal clearance rule. A positive subtraction is not an instruction to order.
Ask for the missing opening and retrieval evidence
Send the exact model, orientation and worksheet through our contact page rather than asking, “Will it fit a small shelf?” Request the space occupied throughout opening and closing, plus the usable open position for retrieval. An unobstructed endpoint does not prove an unobstructed movement path. Paste the record into Message; if a sketch cannot be attached, describe the obstructions in words. Do not infer hinge direction from a front photograph.
I'm considering [exact model/variant] upright in [location]. Usable space is [W × D × clear H], with [obstructions]. Do the listed dimensions include all projections? Please confirm space needed throughout opening/closing, the usable open position, opening/interior and retrieval requirements for my [measured bottle/glasses]. Which details remain unconfirmed? I will keep the dimensional decision pending until those are answered.
If a reply only repeats the outer dimensions, the opening question is still unanswered. Keep the reply with its date and model reference. Use our bottle-and-glass fit guide for the separate contents decision; this worksheet does not turn “standard bottle” into actual measurements.

Let the record determine the next step
Ruled-out: a demonstrated requirement conflicts with the recorded location and orientation. Choose another location or candidate and start a new record; do not rotate the cabinet onto its side to make the arithmetic work.
Pending: a needed dimensional, positioning or access detail is missing. Ask the outstanding question. Track support suitability separately; a paper footprint illustrates nominal closed size, not hinges, stability, shelf loading or safe operation.
Feasible-for-next-check: dimensional screening only is complete; advance to the named next assessment, with support suitability still outstanding. Neither this nor “pending” permits loading or using the cabinet. Catalog empty weight is not the loaded weight; this worksheet supplies no shelf rating, installation approval or mounting method.

For holiday hosting, keep the compact drinks station out of an unresolved bay. If a door cannot work there, compare closed cabinets with open shelves rather than pretending the obstruction disappears.
For a gift, ask for the recipient's real space measurements before choosing the size. After delivery, follow the before-wrapping inspection guide; arrival inspection is a later task, not proof that your shelf plan was sound.

Open the selected product link in the dimensions table, save the exact version and finish the unanswered fields before checkout. If you are still choosing the gift itself, use our gift guide. A rugged cabinet earns its place when you know what has been confirmed—and are willing to leave the rest pending.

Questions before choosing
What comes with my order?
See the included contents in the product description. Bottles, glasses and other styling props are not automatically included.
How do I choose the right size?
Check the dimensions in the product description and measure your intended space. Allow clearance for opening a cabinet door.
Where can I check delivery and returns?
Choose the correct shipping origin for your variant and review our shipping policy and return policy before ordering.
